ATIA Announces 2016 Tourism Scholarship Awards

“The ATIA Foundation Scholarship Program helps support the education of young Alaskans interested in pursuing tourism as possible career path. This year, the ATIA Foundation awarded $25,000 in scholarships to students from across the state. ATIA Announces Partnership with Adventure Green Alaska

Beginning this month, ATIA and AGA will join forces with the collaborative goal of continuing to promote tourism businesses in Alaska practicing economic, environmental and social sustainability. Since 2008, AGA has operated as a volunteer, non-profit organization. AGA remains the only certification program for tourism businesses operating in Alaska that meet specific standards of economic, environmental and social sustainability. To date, AGA has certified over 25 businesses that have qualified for a Gold, Silver or Bronze Level AGA certification. ATIA Foundation - Making a Difference

Message from the President It is that season again and you will probably read many letters about giving. Sometimes the more modest messages are the ones that stick with you. I spoke with a friend recently, and she told me the story of how she changed someone’s life. It wasn’t because of a big gesture or even something given at a tremendous cost. It was simply this: she told someone they mattered. They made a difference. Last October, at the annual convention, ATIA made a difference in the lives of 14 individuals.
