Vacation Planner FAQ

Official Alaska State Vacation Planner
     Frequently Asked Questions:

Q) What is the Dues Invoice, included in my packet, and is it duplicating the
amount noted on fee calculation form?

   a) The Invoice is your renewal for the following fiscal year. It is mailed yearly
with the Vacation Planner Solicitation Packet.
It is not a duplication of what is on the Fee Calculation form but simply a
       reference to that line item.

Q) Why am I being charged for my dues now instead of in July when
     they’re due?

   a) During the solicitation period for the Vacation Planner, we also conduct our
annual Membership drive to ensure our new members are included in the
Vacation Planner. We offer the member advertising discount ($225) to all
renewing members as an incentive to renew early – thus handling all the
     paperwork at one time.

Q) What is the $225 credit?
   a) This credit is one of the many benefits of ATIA membership. You can use your
credit towards any size ad purchased in the Vacation Planner.

Q) Do I have to have a listing ad?
   a) No. You can purchase any size ad you prefer and apply your $225 credit.

Q) How many ads can I purchase?
   a) Only one Listing ad per member is allowed. However, you can purchase as
many Narrative and Display ads as are applicable to your business.

Q) What is the Early Bird discount and what ads does it apply to?
   a) The early bird discount ($50) applies to narrative ads only and is given as
an incentive to place your orders early.

Q) What is the extra voluntary assessment?
   a) This voluntary assessment was initiated by the Board of Directors in response
to the need to increase awareness of the importance and value of the travel
industry to the Alaska economy. The amount is 5% of your annual dues and
will be used exclusively in spreading the word on how tourism benefits the
     Alaskan economy and all Alaskans.
