Adventure Green Alaska Announces Second Round of Certification Recipients for 2016
Adventure Green Alaska (AGA), the only sustainable tourism certification program for tourism businesses operating in Alaska, announces its second round of certification recipients for 2016.
“The businesses certified by AGA are leaders in the tourism industry. They are progressive companies that believe that outstanding Alaska experiences can also be sustainable and of benefit to visitors and hosts alike,” says Sarah Leonard, President & CEO of the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA). ATIA manages the AGA program.
AGA encourages tourism businesses to evaluate their operations and determine whether they use - or could be using - best management and sustainability practices. In order to pass the AGA certification process, Alaska businesses must meet specific standards of economic, environmental and social sustainability. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
