He has published three books on advertising and marketing including his latest Building Brand Value.

Barry Thomsen

Barry started his entrepreneurial career when he was only five years old. He decided that he wasn’t going to sit for hours in front of his house and try to sell a pitcher of lemonade. He loaded two pitchers in his wagon and took them to nearby construction sites and sold out in fifteen minutes. When he got back home, his friend’s pitchers were still almost full.

Growing up on the South side of Chicago, Barry found that you had to become street smart in order to prosper and he did just that. Barry has done many things over the years such as door to door sales, computer placement service, part time bar tender, pizza delivery and even owned several of his own businesses. Then he started his current business which sells plastic cards, scratch cards and promotional items. During those past years, he advised and helped many other small business people with start-up and other ideas to grow. He found he got a lot of personal satisfaction from helping others so he started a monthly newsletter called the Idea-Letter which has subscribers nationwide.

Barry decided to write a book or two to share all the good and bad experiences he encountered along the way. He now enjoys traveling around the country speaking to groups about his many successes and failures. He knew that the life of a small business person was not all fun and profits, but sometimes problems and even disasters. He loves small business and even though the road has been rocky at times, he wouldn’t have it any other way, the street smart way.

Christine West

Ms. Christine M. West in 2001 transformed and reinvented her entire life by facing her fears and moving past self created obstacles. Professionally, she had a vision of creating healthier workplaces. To launch her vision, Ms. West conceived and created The Business MD as a unique vehicle to merge her expertise in network sales engineering and professional passion about psychological behavior underlying all human organisms and connections.

The Business MD approaches healthy development and transformational change from a distinctive approach that blends business, psychology and spirituality to construct solutions that raise awareness and guide appropriate directional movement to create healthier states in individuals and groups in the workplace.

Ms. West holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, a Master of Science in Psychology, (thesis research topic How Fear causes Workplace Self-Sabotage), and is a Doctorate Candidate in Industrial Organizational Psychology who is currently writing a dissertation on Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and Behavior Compliance.
