The Alaska Travel Industry Association

The Alaska Travel Industry Association (AlaskaTIA) is the non-profit, member-based, visitor industry trade association that conducts marketing on behalf of the State of Alaska and that represents the industry in the policy arena. AlaskaTIA's membership is comprised of more than 1000 businesses – from small bed and breakfasts to major corporations.

2009 Alaska Travel Intentions Study

Will those that inquired about an Alaska vacation actually visit in 2009? We use the "Travel Intentions Study" to determine as early as possible the likelihood of inquirers converting to Alaska visitors. Interviews for the study were conducted with a random sample of 300 current year inquirers and 300 past year inquirers. The interviewing was conducted in three waves, November 2008, January 2009 and again in March 2009.

Healthy Visitors make for a Healthy Tourism Industry

Mt. Redoubt
Alaska's Mount Redoubt began erupting late in the evening on March 22, 2009. The volcano, located approximately 100 miles southwest of Anchorage, has continued with a series of eruptions. More Information
