Alaska Tourism Marketing Board

The Alaska Tourism Marketing Board (ATMB) advises the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) on the strategic plan for the state’s tourism marketing campaign. The ATMB has 21 appointed members: 18 ATIA members; the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development Commissioner, or appointee; one member from the House and one member from the Senate. Highly-qualified applicants from around the state apply for the 18 ATIA recommended positions on the ATMB (6  seats annually). The ATIA Board of Directors meets annually in August to thoroughly review and vote on a list of recommended candidates that ensure balanced statewide and regional representation. Six nominees are provided by ATIA to the Governor’s office for consideration. More information on the ATMB can be found in ATIA’s ATMB FAQ document.

Are you interested in being more involved in the Alaska Tourism Marketing Program? Seats are now available for ATMB sub-committees. ATIA members interested in sitting on an ATMB sub-committee should have relevant expertise and knowledge in one of the following fields:

- Advertising & Public Relations

-Travel Trade & International

- Website

- Research
