Alaska Tourism Shark Tank is based on the reality TV show Shark Tank, where business entrepreneurs try to convince major industry investors – the “sharks”- to help make their dreams turn into successful business ventures. ATIA members apply to present tourism business products or ideas to pitch to ATIA’s own Alaska “Sharks” during AITA’s Annual Convention in October. Winners snag cash prizes to help turn their tourism business ideas into reality.
Congratulations to the 2020 Alaska Tourism Shark Tank Winners
Denali Hostel & Cabins, Denali National Park – $8,000 to build an outdoor dining area

ATIA members also selected Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center as the “fin” favorite, winning $3,000 for their animal food kitchen project courtesy of sponsor Alaska Railroad.
Applicants presented their business idea and/or product live (via Zoom) to the ATIA Sharks during the 2020 ATIA VIRTUAL Convention, and the Alaska Tourism Sharks provided valuable feedback and guidance on business ideas. Many thanks to our Sharks Scott Habberstad, Alaska Airlines; Dale Wade, Alaska Railroad Corporation; Jay Blury, GCI; Tom Stark, Wells Fargo; and Ral West, representing the Chuck West Family.
