Alaska Marketing Program Updates

The Alaska Tourism Marketing Board (ATMB) met on July 7 and approved a revised tourism marketing plan based on a $1.5 million budget. The focus of this program is ensuring continues to be a top site for consumers to find inspiration, travel information and a connection to your business. The new plan centers around a digital marketing campaign to drive traffic to the site as well as generating consumer awareness through a public relations and trade program.

With the significantly reduced budget, many programs could no longer be funded. For the first time, Alaska will not produce an Official State Vacation Planner. There will be no television, direct mail or print advertising. All international offices are being closed down.

The ATIA team wants to assure our members that the Association is still going strong! The ATIA board of directors and staff are committed to supporting the industry during this time of change. All of our member programs including the Annual Convention, Adventure Green Alaska, Family Assistance Foundation, E-Learning Center and Tourism Works for Alaska are continuing and will be stronger than ever.

If you have any questions about the Alaska marketing plan, please do not hesitate to contact ATIA team member Tanya Carlson. If you need more information about your ATIA member benefits, contact Laurie Booyse.
