The Alaska Tourism Marketing Board (ATMB) was established by the Alaska State Legislature and signed into law in 2014. The ATMB is a Board within the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development (DCCED) and was created to cooperate with the department to plan and execute a destination tourism marketing campaign that is in the public interest; and to make recommendations to the department regarding tourism marketing.
The ATMB consists of 21 members, including 18 members appointed by the Governor of Alaska who represent different segments of the tourism industry, company sizes and regions of the state.The term of office is three years. Two (2) of the seven (7) seats on the 2016-2017 ATMB are still up for appointment/re-appointment by the Governor.
