Driver Guide (Seasonal)

Imagine spending your workdays traveling through some of the world’s most scenic places. Driver-Guides for Holland America-Princess Alaska-Yukon (HAP) will transport our guests on motorcoaches while delivering an educational and entertaining tour. Through our paid training program, you will earn your Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and gain skills and experience that can set a solid foundation for your future.   • Performs a variety of customer service and driving tasks.
  • Applies knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) Regulations through required documents maintained daily.
  • Routinely, drives a motorcoach and provides narrated tours.
  • Performs inspections on vehicles and basic mechanical duties.
  • Applies knowledge of the area to provide information to passengers.


  • Current, valid driver’s license, with three (3) years clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
  • Must meet Company’s clean driver eligibility requirements.
  • Current, valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with an air brake endorsement is required. (Maybe obtained through Company training course.)
  • Must be certified as physically qualified through a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
  • Minimum age of 18 years required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
  • Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka “Sustain Alaska & the Yukon”, and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.
  • Participate in HAP’s safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.
  • Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Dedicated commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications.
  • Ability to safely drive a motorcoach while speaking to passengers, answering questions, and providing narration, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally, and written, with customers, employees, and management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines, and safety standards, both at work and in housing (if applicable).


  • Travel– FREE* Cruise after your first contract of 400 hours or more earn at most properties (*Port fees and crew gratuities must be paid in advance.)
