Job Description: Adventure Specialist in Alaska’s Exciting Tourism Industry
This position reports to: Sales Manager
Location: Anchorage Office (main branch)
Pay Grade: DOE, entry level positions start at $16/hour
Job Description: The Salmon Berry team works in a family-style environment, in a tight knit office with no doors. This position can sometimes be hectic, but is fun and rewarding. This job requires up-to-date computer skills, adaptability to use a variety of internet-based software, and a hefty amount of customer service and problem solving skills. Successful applicants must be able to work alone, as well as comfortably in a team, with a fluctuating schedule and work load.
Details:
● Assist guides and guests with necessary tour gear and getting smoothly out the door
● Greet walk-in guests enthusiastically, discover their purpose and offer appropriate products or assistance
● Use reservations software to outline itineraries, complete all related booking steps
● Sort and prioritize emails, answering as quickly and thoroughly as possible
● Complete serious itinerary inquiries using the itinerary software, with a follow up email
● Run your daily task list and complete tasks that are due, marking them electronically
● Answer phone calls on main line cheerfully, including the words “Salmon Berry Tours”
● Discover the caller’s purpose and offer them appropriate products or assistance
● Keep continuous notes throughout the day, as part of your comprehensive communication strategy
● Keep close watch on the online chat function when it is your scheduled time to cover this function
● Perform opening and closing procedures as per instructions
● Keep up on training and current procedures
● Attend company events and be part of the team, while supporting the company values
● Be a positive part of the home base where our guests and our tour guides can feel comfortable and supported
