MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Safely navigate vessels for water taxi and sightseeing. Vessels vary from 30ft – 6 pax to inspected vessels including 40ft – 22 passenger landing craft and a 46ft – 30 passenger catamaran, All vessels are beachable for loading and unloading passengers, kayaks and freight. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Basic vessel maintenance and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues Load and secure kayaks and freight – keeping in mind weight, balance and stability Knowledge and interpretation of natural history, marine environment, geology, flora and fauna, and history of Prince William Sound. QUALIFICATIONS 50 Ton Masters license Able to pass USCG pre-employment and random drug tests Previous driving experience (training experience as a deckhand may be sufficient) Environmental Science, Marine Biology, or Biology background is helpful

Lazy Otter Charters operates four vessels offering water taxi, custom sightseeing, guided kayaking, photo/film support, freight service and towing/salvage work. Our vessels range from 6 to 30 passengers, 50 ton Masters License necessary. We operate year-round throughout Prince William Sound. Our charter office/café in Whittier serves as our headquarters. We offer housing options in Whittier.
