Our Line Cooks at 108 Taphouse & Burger Bar are the backbone of the restaurant. They are responsible for setting up and stocking food items and other necessary supplies. Line Cooks prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Key cooking responsibilities include grilling, drying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure that food comes out simultaneously. Everything must be completed and served in high quality and in a timely fashion.
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Answer, report and follow Executive Chef or Sous Chef instructions
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Cook food in various utensils or grillers
Check food while cooking to stir or turn
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Ensuring food is fully cooked before plating and serving to guests
Following a high level of sanitary protocol always
Check quality of ingredients
Perform inventory checks, complete food storage logs, and communicate to supervisor when there are shortages
