Operations Manager — Gondwana Ecotours
Location: Remote (Alaska-based preferred)
Full time: 40 hrs per week
Salaried position based on experience. Benefits include vacation days, sick days, some holidays, phone plan, and occasional fam trips.
The Operations Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, and facilitating behind the scenes operations of national and international small-group tours. A successful Operations Manager maximizes guest satisfaction while maintaining a healthy profit margin and delivering tours that live up to our brand promise.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, quality-focused, capable of learning and using a variety of online platforms, and will develop and maintain relationships with hotel staff, guides, and vendors. It will often be necessary to juggle a variety of tasks throughout the day with keen attention to details.
Experience: Prior Operations experience required, ideally from the travel industry.
Communicate with vendors such as operators, airlines, hotels and activity reps
Update vendor and activities descriptions, pricing, and other information in operations manuals and guide instructions.
Make and change hotel reservations and communication with internal team members and external properties to reserve desired accommodation types
Negotiate and establish service levels, contracts and costs with vendors
Send and update manifests for tours to airlines, charters, and hotels
Maintain spreadsheets with detailed tour-by-tour costs of operations
Collaborate with sales to provide price estimates for private tours
Send guest itineraries and packets to guides for scheduled tours
Communicate with guides during tours and provide logistical support as needed with vendors and suppliers
