Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)1. Solicits, plans, and participates in Familiarization Tours of the Wildlife Center, including ACVB meeting planner FAMs, Media FAMs, national and international tour operator FAMs and other independent AWCC FAM trips.2. Representation and participation at ACVB/ATIA local events, conventions, fairs, tradeshows, monthly luncheons, Chamber of Commerce meetings and other luncheons and meetings as pertains to organization.3. Responsible for making local sales calls to over the counter tour desks/concierge staff, as well as local receptive tour operators.4. Collaboration on AWCC programs including Internship, Animal Feedings and Enrichment programs to promote and advertise on the website, media platforms and signage creating awareness.5. Responsible for wholesaler communication to operators regarding operational changes, contract negotiations, rate structure, and reservations.6. Responsible for developing retail structure rate, collaborating with staff on collateral material that is demanded, communicating internally to staff the price structure, developing promotional material and creating marketing campaigns associated with the price structure.7. Main contact for facilities rentals inquiries, advertising opportunities, group presentations and donation opportunities.8. Responsible for facility rental of Bison Hall and Event Tent, including advertising, site visits, selling, contracts, scheduling and day of event logistics.9. Spearhead, schedule and lead monthly events planned on campus to attract the community and public eye, increasing revenue in admissions and the gift store.10. Reviewing advertisement opportunities, authorize contracts and communicate with the organization for advertising specs and designs.11. Partnership development with like-minded organizations locally and nationally. Representation in local tourism marketing organizations.12. Management and controller of website and social media platforms. Responsibilities include weekly posting, updating content and information, monitor appropriate posting of media platforms by the public, responding to public inquiries and other tasks that arise.13. Reinforce Social Media policy in the Employee Handbook and provide proper training and guidelines to all new interns and staff hired. Update policy as needed.14. Update the Marketing Plan for AWCC and Bison Hall annually. Meet with the Executive Director to discuss plans for the upcoming year.15. Responsible for creating informative signs, animal interpretive signs and property signage that follow the branding guidelines of AWCC.16. Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining the market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share17. Responsible for marketing and promoting all scheduled events, newsworthy items, animals and center following appropriate marketing protocol.18. Manage donation requests AWCC receives. Track and record the donations AWCC gives to like-minded organizations and other entities.19. Oversight of AWCC memberships and participating in ATIA, Visit Anchorage, ACVB, Chamber of Commerce and other memberships in correlation with AWCC.20. Manage film inquiries and filter inquiries with price quotes and film descriptions before sending to the Executive Director.21. Responsible for the development and distribution of brochures, including relationships with distribution companies.22. Compile data from Google Analytics and other programs regarding media insights, write a report highlighting information provided from data.23. Writing projects including press releases, contracts, reports and other projects as assigned.
