Job Details

The Trail Guide is responsible for providing information to our guest about the flora, fauna, wildlife, and history of Herring Cove and the surrounding area. Trail guides ensure our guest receives a memorable and professional nature experience.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Conducts tours in the time allotted/scheduled with adherence to quality standards
Meet and greet guests, explain the tour’s objectives and goals and safety procedures
Lead guests into rainforest trail and explain about fauna, flora, wildlife, and history of Herring Cove
Explain the history of the estuary, ocean areas and salmon hatchery in Herring Cove
Help guests to interact with live animals on site and talk about the history of the Old Sawmill
Escort guest to Carving Studio where a native carver will explain about the totem pole carved on site
Help guest in finding gift items in the Store and escort guests back to their bus for return trip to ship
