Scholarships

The Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) Foundation supports scholarships for those pursuing their degree in or related to the tourism industry. The scholarship program originally formed under the Alaska Visitor Association (AVA) in 1997. In 2001, AVA became ATIA and the foundation incorporated as the ATIA Foundation. Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded $310,000 in scholarships to more than 150 individuals statewide. From Ketchikan to Nome and Kodiak to Tok with a special Rural Award benefiting villages and small communities. The scholarship program strengthens the travel industry across the state and assists in the education of Alaskans working in tourism.

ATIA is excited to announce that $17,510 was raised in October during the Scholarship Luncheon at the 2016 Annual Convention & Trade Show in Anchorage. These funds will go directly towards supporting ATIA Foundation sholarships for 2017. Thank you to our members for your generous support.

The 2017 ATIA Foundation scholarship application period is now closed.
