2017 Alaska Vacation Planner Update

On June 29, Governor Walker released his FY 2017 vetoed operating budget. This budget included a significant cut to tourism funding from the proposed $4.5 million to $1.5 million. Given this additional cut to the program, sales of the 2017 Alaska Vacation Planner have been placed on hold until the Alaska Tourism Marketing Board (ATMB) can meet to discuss a revised marketing plan for Alaska tourism. The next Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) Board of Directors meeting will be July 28 in Anchorage. If you have any questions please contact Jillian Simpson or Tanya Carlson.
