Job Description

This tour guide role will have you meeting customers in downtown Anchorage, AK. Tour guides will be responsible for leading groups of guests on multi-location tours of Anchorage focusing on culinary and cultural experiences. The tour guide will provide historical and cultural context and storytelling during the tour to educate and entertain guests.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct walking and van tours with energy, knowledge, and professionalism.
Provide engaging and accurate storytelling about local history, culture, and food.
Ensure guest safety and comfort throughout the tour.
Build rapport with guests, offering personalized interactions and responding to inquiries.
Facilitate food sampling and provide insights into local culinary delights.
Handle logistics and coordination during tours.
Provide feedback and suggestions for tour improvement.

Qualifications

Excellent communication, storytelling, and customer service skills
Proven ability to provide guided tours
Ability to walk and/or drive for long distances
Strong knowledge of the history and culture of Anchorage and Alaska or ability to learn
Great public speaking and storytelling skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Fluency in a second language (preferably Spanish or Chinese) is a plus
Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or tourism is preferred
Clean background
Ability to pass a drug test
