Assistant Manager, Escorted Tour Operations (Seasonal)

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Holland America and Princess guests with professional, compassionate and diligent Directors to escort them throughout their land tours.
Prepares schedules, monitors operations, processes reports.
Supervises the Escorted Tour Operations team and the unit’s activities.
Applies knowledge of company product, policies, and procedures.
Analyzes and prepares reports.
Responsible for the screening, interviewing applicants, and hiring applicant.
Responsible for the supervision, performance management, and discipline of seasonal personnel.
Responsible for seasonal employee training and development.
Support staff with operational inquiries and problem resolution

REQUIREMENTS
This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in escorted tour operations and/or Alaska tourism equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of some college or an Associate’s degree and/or related experience in tourism field.
Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth, and depth of knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized reservations systems.
Travel is required for this position
Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is preferred.
2 years supervisory experience preferred.
Current passport is required.
Current valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record is required.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.

Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
