Job Summary
The Partnership and Affiliate Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in developing and managing business-to-business relationships, fostering strategic partnerships, and maximizing exposure for Alaska Helicopter Tours and its affiliated companies. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to advertisements, promotional collateral, travel agent relations, and event marketing to drive brand awareness and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Memberships & Industry Engagement
• Maintain and update memberships with Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVBs) and Chambers of Commerce in operational regions.
• Ensure Alaska Helicopter Tours business listings, web ads, and print advertisements are current and effectively placed in publications and online platforms.
• Represent Alaska Helicopter Tours at networking events, conferences, and tourism industry meetings to foster relationships and identify growth opportunities.
• Educate employees and volunteers on brand messaging and service offerings to strengthen B2B connections.
• Manage group contract negotiation and new affiliate contract negotiations. Proactively searching new affiliate business, arranging contract terms while partnering with reservations team and management.
2. Advertising & Marketing Strategy
• Develop and manage seasonal advertising campaigns across multiple channels, including radio, video, and print, to target key demographics.
• Create compelling marketing copy that effectively communicates brand offerings and aligns with business objectives.
• Collaborate with the creative team to ensure branding consistency across all advertising efforts.
3. Wholesale, Tour Operator, & Travel Agent Relations
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing tour operators, travel agents, and wholesale partners to drive sales and bookings.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities in the Alaska visitor industry and beyond.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing structures to maximize revenue and expand market reach.
4. Printed Collateral & Distribution
• Design, order, and coordinate the distribution of marketing materials, including rack cards, brochures, and business cards, across Southcentral Alaska and other strategic locations.
• Ensure brand visibility in high-traffic areas to capture direct consumer business.
5. Sponsorships, Donations, & Strategic Partnerships
• Evaluate sponsorship and donation requests, assessing potential ROI and brand exposure opportunities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for charitable affiliations and industry sponsorships.
• Develop strategies to enhance brand reputation and visibility through community involvement.
6. Promotional & Logo Merchandise
• Research, design, and procure branded promotional materials, including giveaway items, special event gifts, and guest amenities.
• Ensure promotional materials align with company branding and target audience preferences.
• Distribute merchandise at industry events, consumer shows, and strategic touchpoints to enhance brand recall.
7. Event & Travel Planning
• Strategically plan and coordinate event participation at both local and national levels, ensuring high ROI and brand visibility.
• Oversee Alaska Helicopter Tours presence at trade shows, consumer expos, and industry gatherings, optimizing exposure across all affiliated companies.
• Research new opportunities for growth and expansion through event participation and travel networking.
• Collaborate with the executive team to align event selection with broader business goals.
Qualifications & Experience
• 3+ years of experience in partnership management, tourism sales, marketing, or business development(preferably in the travel, aviation, or adventure tourism industry).
• Strong knowledge of the Alaska visitor industry, tourism networks, and key stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
• Experience in advertising, branding, and digital marketing is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and marketing tools.
• Ability to travel as needed for events, networking, and client meetings.
