You could be our next dynamic Tourism professional! The Haines Borough is

accepting applications for a full-time, year-round Tourism Director to join our team.

This position has responsibility for promoting, supporting and growing the economic

capacity of the Haines Borough and its Visitor Industry. The Director is part of the

leadership team under the supervision of the Borough Manager.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in advertising,

marketing, hospitality and tourism, or closely related field. Four years of experience in

these areas is preferred. Knowledge of special event management, economic

development, writing, graphic design, and media relations. Management experience

involving supervision of employees preferred; valid Alaska Driver's license

and passport or the ability to acquire them within 30 days of hire; computer literacy and

the ability to work well with word processing programs; excellent communication and

people skills.

What We Offer: Starting wage is $53,290 - $58,594 DOE with excellent benefits. The

fully loaded compensation package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug

benefits and PERS retirement is $89,163 -$96,055. All new employees are subject to a

6-month probationary period.
