JOB TITLE Café & Gift Shop staff

Frisk Mermaid Café & Gifts is a busy café on the harbor in Whittier, Alaska. We serve espresso, baked goods, sous and fresh sandwiches to order. There is a small gift shop selling unique souvenirs. The café also is the location of Whittier Fudge selling fresh fudge. On the property next to the café is the AVIS Car Rental that we also operate. The environment we like to create is fun and fast. Our shops are cornerstone businesses in the community.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Frisky Mermaid Café & Gifts is looking for cafe staff for a busy, fun café. The position includes reliable, fast, safe and healthy food service but also includes ordering and supply /inventory control correct, daily receipts and cleanliness.

WAGES: Wages start at $16 per hour depending on experience. Average daily tips $50-$100+ We offer housing options in Whittier for a low rental fee.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Food Safety, food and supply handling *Stocking maintaining gift shop *Daily cash register receipts and reporting

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Excellent Customer Service

Maintaining high coffee and food service standards

selling retail and fudge and keeping supplies stocked

Help maintain high profile of the café in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

High School

Alaska Food Handlers Card

Previous customer service preferred

Previous food handling preferred

Positive attitude and attention to details necessary to succeed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis * Able to stand for extended time*Able to go up/down step ladder
