JOB TITLE: Café & Gift Shop Manager

Lazy Otter Café & Gifts is part of the Lazy Otter Charters company. The café on th harbor in Whittier serves espresso, baked goods, fresh sandwiches, and soft serve ice cream. There is a small gift shop selling unique souvenirs. The café also serves as the meeting location for passenger going on a Lazy Otter sightseeing our water taxi. Whittier Fudge shop is next door to Lazy Otter Café. Here we make and sell fresh fudge. We also sell gifts featuring Whittier, Prince William Sound and Alaskan artists. The environment we like to create is fun and fast. Our shops are cornerstone businesses in the community.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Lazy Otter Café & Gifts is looking for a manger for a busy, fun café. The position of manager includes reliable, fast, safe and healthy food service but also includes training, and supporting café staff, ordering and supply control and overseeing daily receipts and cleanliness.

WAGES: $18+ depending on experience. Daily tips $50-100+ . Housing available in Whittier

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Staff management, training and scheduling

Food Safety, food and supply ordering

Stocking maintaining gift shop

Daily cash register receipts and reporting

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Excellent Customer Service

Maintaining high coffee and food service standards

Mentoring and training young staff

Help maintain high profile of the café in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

High School graduation or equivalent

Alaska Food Handlers Card

Previous customer service necessary

Previous food handling preferred

Previous supervisory experience preferred
