The Alaska Travel Industry Association is seeking a diplomatic, inclusive, and strategic leader to serve as the new President and CEO. The Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) is the state’s leading industry organization for travel-related businesses and supporters. Made up of about 600 members representing businesses both large and small across the state, ATIA works to increase the economic impact of tourism in Alaska and is the respected voice of the industry, advocating on behalf of members on issues impacting businesses and communities. ATIA is committed to ensuring the continued success, quality, and integrity of the travel industry in Alaska.

The President and CEO is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and management of the organization’s operations. This includes the advancement of the mission statement, implementation of the long-range strategic plan, management of the Travel Alaska brand and associated plans and communications, and advancing the understanding of the Alaska travel industry with governmental leaders and all Alaskans.

The person filling this position will report directly to the ATIA Board of Directors and is accountable to the Board for the performance of their duties and responsibilities. They will be responsible for establishing organizational structure, including the delegation of tasks to team members, to meet or exceed organizational goals and objectives. The President and CEO will establish and build relationships with ATIA members, the Alaska Native community, government officials, public and private land managers, grant administrators, and other groups as identified in the strategic plan. The person filling this position will be the key spokesperson for the organization, ensuring all communications for the industry are consistent and properly represent and advocate for the travel industry.
