Track Laborer
Job Description
Track Laborers work as a member of crew or gang, that lays, aligns, replaces, and maintains railroad track, ties, roadbed, ballast, switches, crossings, and other track fixtures and equipment. Track Laborers perform heavy manual labor in extreme weather conditions.
Track Laborers work along the railbelt and may be away from home for several days at a time. Work away from home is compensated with $50-$100 per day in addition to standard wages. Applicants should consider the impact this type of schedule may have on their lifestyle.
Note: This is an FRA-covered position. FRA-covered employees are those employees who have been assigned to perform regulated services as roadway workers and are therefore subject to the random pool for monthly drug and alcohol testing.
